Cheese Please: Saisonnier

We checked out the newest place in Kinderhook, Saisonnier, and were not disappointed.

Being from Kinderhook myself (and a huge fan of cheese), I was ecstatic to learn that a new restaurant was coming to town. Having pronounced it incorrectly for weeks prior to its opening (thank you to their Instagram SAY-SON-YAY), this quaint family-run beer and cheese shop did not disappoint and has resulted in many visits since.

Upon entering, there is a nice size bar where you can either sit or place your order at and sit elsewhere. The tables are small, and only one larger table, so groups may be hard to fit unless planned accordingly. There are over 125 craft beers, wine, and cider to choose from, which made for a hard decision, but their staff is so friendly and always willing to help to make your decision a bit easier.

Kelly and I shared the Columbia County cheese plate, a chèvre and honey sandwich and two beers. Little did we know we’d be facing a cheese-coma. The cheese plate was enough for 3-4 people - making it a great place for sharing and trying a variety of plates.

Since our first visit, we’ve been back to try their grilled cheddar sandwich (with and without an heirloom tomato), which is everything you’ve ever dreamed of and more.

This shop has been a great addition to the Kinderhook Village and we cannot wait to see their future success!
