12 Days of Gifting: Upstate Experiences

We all know at least one person who has it all, or is just plain picky. Update your gift list to include experiences around Upstate New York! Here are 12 days of suggestions to make your life a little easier.

December 14th: Maybe they’re a concert fan? Give the gift of SPAC or the Times Union Center. Tickets are available to most of their 2020 shows. SPAC has put together a holiday gift guide to make it simple, or purchase tickets to Michael Bublé at the Times Union Center on March 22nd!

December 15th: Ice Ice Baby: An overnight stay at the Sagamore for the popular Glacier Ice Bar Weekends. Book here before they sell out!

December 16th: A co-working gift certificate. There are SO many co-working spaces around the Capital Region and beyond. Try Troy Innovation Garage, Bull Moose Club, or Palette Cafe, just to name a few!

December 17th: Try your hand at painting (and sipping) at any one of these studios: Saratoga Paint & Sip, Painting with a Twist or Canvas, Corks & Forks! If they don’t like painting, try wood-working at one of Board & Brush’s locations around the Capital Region.

December 18th: Do they love to get dressed up for a good cause? Purchase tickets to a 2020 gala!

American Red Cross Fire and Ice Gala - April 25th, 2020. Reserve your tickets early and save! From now through December 31, use the discount code RedCrossGala2020 for $25 off your General Admission tickets (Individual or Couple). *This does not include the Young Professional ticket rate. The code will only work on individual and couple general admission tickets online.

10th Annual SPAC Winter Ball: The Future is Now - March 7th, 2020.

December 19th: Are they a beer connoisseur? Purchase tickets to Saratoga Beer Week, happening February 21st and 22nd at the Saratoga Springs City Center.

December 20th: Learn to cook something new! Try purchasing a gift certificate to Different Drummers Kitchen or The Cooking School at Market Bistro. A hands on experience and numerous classes for all skill levels.

December 21st: Support a local farm and gift the gift of fresh fruits and vegetables all summer long! Most farms offer a CSA, or a membership/subscription, and in return will receive a basket of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season. Here are a few of our favorites:

Staron Farm - Valatie

Roxbury Farm - Winter shares are available. Deliveries to the Capital District or pick-up at the farm in Kinderhook.

Fox Creek Farm - Schoharie

Denison Farm - Schaghticoke

Ironwood Farm - Hudson. $25 off if you sign up before January 31st, 2020.

December 22nd: A sporting event. Hit it out of the park with tickets to the Tri-City ValleyCats games! Check out the holiday bundles they are currently offering.

December 23rd: Indoor or outdoor golf. Your gifts will be par for the course with a versatile gift certificate to Saratoga National Golf Course. If they’re itching to swing a club, gift them a certificate to NextGen Indoor Golf Center.

If golf isn’t their thing, maybe axe throwing is! Purchase a gift certificate to The Lazy Axe in Albany, or Generation Axe Throwing in Colonie.

December 24th: Give the gift of theatre. Try Proctors or Capital Repertory Theatre. Choose from individual tickets, to gift certificates, or a subscription for the season.

December 25th: You’ve been procrastinating! You can’t go wrong with wellness. Purchase a gift certificate online to The Hot Yoga Spot or Spa Mirbeau. Spa Mirbeau has a location at Crossgates Mall or a new Inn and Spa in Rhinebeck.
